ABOUT
THE DEPARTMENT
The
Department of Economics, PDUAM, Amjonga was established in August 2023 with a
Bechelors Programme, a Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP) under NEP and
Higher Secondary. The Intake capacity for FYUGP in Arts stream in our college has been
finalised by Gauhati University to be 50 for MAJOR and 150 for MINOR. Currently
department have only one faculty member. The department of Economics strives to
provide academic leadership to the subject of Economics and want to introduce
financial awareness among the students and in the society as a whole. The
department is also interested in creating inter disciplinary framework and also
want to organise workshops for competitive exams like APSC, GATE, SSC etc.
Objective
of the Department:
The
department aims at developing academic knowledge along with critical thinking so
that the student can succeed in future. Department also want to make students
aware about different employment opportunities along with entrepreneurship. The
attempt is to motivate students for academic development and their versatile
development for a bright future.
